Ozone
PM2.5 is particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 2.5 microns. Particle pollution data are generated using monitoring techniques that approximate the Federal Reference Method. The data shown here are published by the EPA as soon as practical after the end of each hour and as such are not fully validated. Therefore, data are only approved for the expressed purpose of reporting and forecasting the AQI.

Information on these maps are expressed as 1-hour and 8-hour ozone concentration (in parts per billion or ppb) The EPA standards for 1-hour and 8-hour ozone are 125 ppb and 85 ppb respectively.



Real Time Air Quality Charts and Maps

Air pollutant concentrations are monitored for the DNR Air Quality Bureau by the University of Iowa Hygienic Laboratory, the Polk County Health Dep- artment, and the Linn County Health Department. You can access this data in the following locations:
