  *	The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is proposing to issue these construction permit(s). Written comments should be directed immediately to the assigned engineer.

• Proposed Rule Changes to Air Quality Rules

On Thursday, August 28th, the Department will hold an informational meeting regarding proposed rule changes to air quality rules. The purpose of the proposed rule changes is to adopt new federal regulations affecting stationary internal combustion engines, gasoline distribution facilities and surface coating operations, and to amend the state air construction permitting requirements to better accommodate the new federal regulations. The meeting will be held at 1 PM in the Department’s Air Quality Bureau conference rooms. At the informational meeting, Department staff will be available to answer questions on the proposed amendments.

A copy of the Notice of Intended Action (NOIA) being presented for information to the Environmental Protection Commission (EPC) on August 19, 2008, is available at www.iowadnr.gov/epc/08aug/18.pdf. The NOIA will be presented to the EPC for decision on October 14th, and which time the Department will accept official public comment on the proposed rules.
