DNR Offers Air Permit Training

The DNR is offering free training seminars to help consultants and businesses who routinely apply for air construction permits better understand how to fill out quality air permit applications. This is necessary to help industry receive permits as quickly as possible.

Two sessions are offered, each limited to 40 particpants. The morning session focuses on complex permit applications (PSD) and the afternoon session is focused on standard air construction permits.

Ensuring high quality permit applications and understanding what is required before a mandatory pre-application meeting for complex air permits (PSD, netting, etc.) will be detailed. Much has changed in the last year due to DNR-industy teamwork under the Kaizen continuous process improvement efforts. Is your consultant or business staff fully aware of the new process?

Who should attend?
Consultants and businesses that routinely apply for standard air permits or who currently or may need to apply for complex air permits such as PSD air permits should attend. The training is especially vital to ensure appropriate steps are followed for complex permits. The training will help ensure that companies are able to meet their construction deadlines. Training will help applicants understand what information is needed prior to pre-application meetings.

To register, call the DNR's Barb Williams at 515-242-5275. Indicate if you will attend the morning, afternoon or both sessions and which day (Wednesday, October 26th or Wednesday, November 9th.) No more than two representatives from a consulting firm or business may attend. Training is held at the DNR Air Quality Offices at 7900 Hickman Road, Suite 1 in Windsor Heights.
