Paint+Plus Saves Your Business Time and Money
June 13, 2007
The Iowa Air Emissions Assistance Program (IAEAP) at Iowa Waste Reduction Center has introduced a pioneering computer program that is now available to download. This program is to help small businesses comply with air quality regulatory record keeping requirements for painting operation. The IAEAP developed this FREE electronic record keeping program called Paint+Plus which is a standalone application that can track business’ coatings usage and resulting emissions, inevitably saving time and money for small businesses.
To utilize the program’s tracking and record keeping features effectively, users simply enter their coatings information (density, hazardous air pollutant (HAP), and volatile organic compounds (VOC) content) from the respective MSDS sheets. When the specific coatings are actually sprayed, the sprayed quantity is entered into the program.
With Paint+Plus, users have the ability to monitor their coatings usage and emissions from either the main menu or in a printed report. MSDS information and historical material usage can be summarized in a report that may be printed or saved in a PDF format for future reference. All data stored within the program may also be backed up.
Paint+Plus eliminates the need to hand calculate emissions and rolling totals for usage. Rolling totals are automatically updated at the beginning of each month. All information required in a facility’s permit can be generated in an easy to follow standard format in the event of an inspection.
The program is available in two versions which require Windows and are now available to download at www.iwrc.org/IAEAP/paintsoftware.cfm. Paint tracks sprayable materials usage only and requires Windows XP or later. Paint+Plus tracks usage and emissions and requires Windows 2000 or later. For information regarding Paint+Plus please call the Iowa Air Emissions Assistance Program at 1-800-422-3109.
