Ethanol Facilities’ Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventories Due March 31

All ethanol facilities that operated last year must submit a greenhouse gas emissions inventory for 2007 to the DNR Air Quality Bureau by March 31, 2008. Greenhouse gas emissions must be reported on a new DNR spreadsheet that is pre-filled with emissions factors and contains a special section for facilities with CO2 stack test results and/or CEM data. The spreadsheet also includes an additional tab for calculating CO2 emissions from fermentation. Download these spreadsheets from www.iowacleanair.com/prof/ghg/ghg.html.

Greenhouse gas emissions spreadsheets may be printed out and mailed to DNR or electronically attached to a Minor Source or Title V inventory in submitted in SPARS. No fees are required for greenhouse gas emissions. For questions about greenhouse gas inventories contact Marnie Stein at (515) 281-8468 or marnie.stein@dnr.iowa.gov. If you need help with SPARS, please contact Rachel Quill at (515) 281-8983 or rachel.quill@dnr.iowa.gov. The mailing address for inventories is: Marnie Stein, DNR Air Quality Bureau, 7900 Hickman Road, Suite 1, Urbandale , IA 50322.
