A Message from the Deputy Director
Deputy Director

Name: Liz Christiansen
Field: Deputy Director
Location: Des Moines

Bordered by two great rivers, the Missouri and the Mississippi, our state encompasses many distinct landscapes. From the unique loess hills - found only two places in the world - to the prairie potholes, the farm ponds, lakes and the rugged Mississippi bluffs, Iowa literally means "beautiful land."

Our mission at the DNR is to lead Iowans in caring for our natural resources. We created this web page to help attract and retain talented people who want to be leaders in this effort. We need your resourcefulness and expertise to accomplish that mission. It is only with a diverse staff composed of many ages, cultures, talents and backgrounds that we can be leaders who represent the diversity of the landscape and people of Iowa.

Please use this web page to find information about job openings, benefits and training. But, most of all, use it to learn about the people of the DNR - their positions, their challenges and their dedication. They are our greatest strength.
