The DNR helps Iowa citizens, businesses and communities create a cleaner environment and stronger economy through the sustainable use of natural resources. Energy efficiency and renewable energy development are two proven strategies for meeting that goal. The DNR’s Energy and Waste Management Bureau is the state’s core agency for creating policies and programs that decrease its reliance on imported fossil fuels.
