This stream is part of the Yellow River State Forest. It
is much smaller than Paint Creek and is stocked during the entire season
due to its cool water temperature, a requirement that trout need.
The Yellow River State Forest occupies 7889 acres of beautiful northeastern Iowa countryside.
With over 175 non-electric campsites, there is plenty of room for scheduling a trout fishing trip.
Bridle and hiking trails, snowmobiling and cross country skiing trails
make this a perfect place to visit any time of year. Hunting opportunities
include squirrel, deer, grouse, turkey, woodcock, and waterfowl.
