The Bear Creeks (South, North and Middle) are
probably the best known trout streams in Iowa and they regularly receive
the most fishing pressure by anglers. These streams combined offer almost
10 miles of quality trout fishing, so even with the popularity there is
plenty of elbow room for you to enjoy yourself. There may be no better
place in Iowa to do some camping and trout fishing.
Remember also that the trout season in Iowa is open year-round and these
streams provide fast action even during the winter. DNR fish surveys always
conclude that these streams maintain a high density of trout even during
the non-stocking months.
