  • Characteristics - cheek and gill cover scale pattern of northern pike; body markings of muskellunge; 16-19 anal fin rays; 17-18 dorsal fin rays
  • Distribution - stocked in 34 lakes statewide, have tendency to disperse widely after stocking
  • Foods - mostly fish as adults
  • State Record - 27 pounds, 2 ounces - West Okoboji Lake, Dickinson County, August 1989 - Shannon Green from Spencer, Iowa
