OBTAINING CURRENT SITE ANALYTICAL DATA

The selection and implementation of corrective actions at LUST sites has been delayed because the soil and groundwater data is not current.  The delay occurs when the consultant obtains current data to verify contaminant concentrations. It is difficult to quantify what would be considered "old analytical data" in all conditions.  However, we would suggest resampling a site prior to the corrective action meeting if the data are over 2 years old.  Ideally groundwater sampling would be consistent with the Monitoring Plan.  Soil source and/or plume verification sampling should also be considered if soil cleanup is being considered.

UST Fund eligible sites must have budgets pre-approved for any proposed sampling activities.
