Weather Related Closures

Following is a list of state-owned and managed parks that are experiencing weather related closures.

Park/County Areas Affected Anticipated reopening date
Maquoketa Caves State Park
Dance Hall Cave Flooding Update
The overhead lights that have been in the cave since 1939 were damaged by the flood and are not operational, causing total darkness once visitors walk into the cave a short distance. It is not known how long it will take to repair the lighting system. Cave visitors are encouraged to bring flashlights. The remainder of the park, including all other caves and trails, is available for public use during normal park hours.
