Pollution Prevention and Environmental Management Systems

An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a set of processes and procedures that can enable an organization to reduce its environmental impacts and increase its operating efficiency. An EMS is an effective tool for businesses, institutions, municipalities and other organizations with intensive utility use or manufacturing facilities. DNR Pollution Prevention Services provides guidance and technical assistance to assist Iowa organizations in all phases of the EMS process.
