Chapter
Changes
104: Sanitary Disposal Projects with Processing Facilities Current rules are a collection of separate rules consolidated from previous IAC 567-Chapters 104 and 106. Updated rules are needed for clarity and to reflect modern best management practices. Furthermore, updated rules may encourage waste diversion from landfills
108: Beneficial Use Determinations: Solid By-Products as resources and alternative daily cover Update to the current list of universally approved beneficial use determinations that do not need further approval from the Department of Natural Resources. This will accommodate by-products that are generated from the steel and the electric utility industries. All references to the use of solid by-products as fill material will be removed. Sites that use solid by-products as fill will be regulated as a monofill or landfill as appropriate.
103: Sanitary Landfills: Coal Combustion Residue Update to include environmental controls and designs similar to what is required for municipal solid waste landfills and industrial monofills.
121: Land Application of Biodegradable Wastes The land application rules for biodegradable wastes will be updated and clarified.
