Parcel and County number assistance

For County #:
Obtain the 2-digit county code from the table of counties printed below.

County Codes

For Parcel Identification Number:
The number recorded for “Parcel Identification Number" (PIN) must be for a qualifying tract of land as described here.

Special Note: Dallas County landowners and tenants must use what is called the "Mapping Number" if they are using parcels in Dallas County to qualify for Landowner-Tenant licenses.

If you are registering as a landowner, spouse of a landowner, or child of a landowner:
On your current property tax statement you will likely see the words “Parcel” or “Parcel ID.” The number listed next to these words is the PIN. Enter the PIN from only one parcel of qualifying land that is owned by the family. Each member of a landowner family must register on a separate form, but all must use the same PIN. If you cannot locate your PIN or have questions regarding your PIN, please ask your County Treasurer for assistance.

If you are registering as a Tenant, spouse of a tenant, or child of a tenant:
You must request a PIN for one parcel of qualifying land rented from the landowner whose name, address, and telephone number are also required. On the landowner’s current property tax statement he/she will likely see the words “Parcel” or “Parcel ID.” The number listed next to these words is the PIN.  Each member of a tenant family must register on a separate form, but all must use the same PIN. If the landowner cannot locate a PIN or has questions regarding the PIN, please ask your County Treasurer for assistance.

Internet availability of Taxpayer Parcel Identification Numbers:
Online resources can also be used to obtain your Taxpayer Parcel Identification Number. Property tax information for all Iowa Counties can be viewed online at https://www.iowatreasurers.org/iscta/secure/searchPropertyTaxes.do.

In addition, online GIS Systems are available for many Iowa counties.  GIS-based sites that you may find useful are: http://beacon.schneidercorp.com and http://www.iowaassessors.com.
